In recent years, WIHS has been becoming members of and making posts on various Facebook community pages covering all 169 towns and cities in Connecticut, to build awareness and listenership. Now, we’re taking this effort into Phase 2 by gradually creating a series of WIHS graphics and videos that are customized to each town. Why? Because Connecticut is extremely “provincial.” We want to let local citizens know that we are “live and local” 24/7 for them.
We also intend to archive these new town files on the WIHS 1049 YouTube Channel so friends and listeners can download and post town-specific files on their local community, church, and personal Facebook, Instagram and TikTok pages. We’re going to focus our initial efforts on towns and cities where the 104.9 FM signal tends to be weak: the four corners of Connecticut and our “blind spot” behind Meriden Mountain in Southington. With live streams from our website, 10 other digital platforms and our WIHS App, we are more accessible to “all” of Connecticut than ever before.
